Cities and counting
Nanaimo men’s group is a steady in-person circle for men in Nanaimo committed to honesty, accountability, and growth.
City: Nanaimo | Captain(s): Troy Turchanski, Steve Roy & Dhanook Singh
As a Men’s group, each week we meet to create a space to heal and grow. We seek and speak our truth, listen for truth in one another, and hold a strong and disciplined container. We know how to be present for one another’s feelings, and to honour one another’s differences. We support each other to create what we each seek in life. We honour the positive energy of masculinity; we welcome the element of fire, challenge, and accountability. No posturing, no performance. We get honest, track the body, and challenge each other cleanly. In our circle, each man learns to sit with his discomfort, hold depth and lead himself from clarity. We train the fundamentals: emotional awareness, embodied truth and grounded presence.
Out of this commitment, over eight years, we have evolved a tight-knit community of active and alumni members in and around Nanaimo who remained connected in friendship and respect.
If you’re looking for a place to grow alongside other men who are walking the path with intention, this is that place. Your side of the bargain, is to show up each week with few exceptions. You commit to be sober, be emotionally present and be willing to risk being vulnerable and open. If you can do that, we can help you learn the rest.

“This brotherhood has changed my life in many ways. I’ve learned a lot about self-awareness, compassion, accountability, and trust.”
“It’s so much deeper and impactful than I ever expected. I didn’t realize how much I needed the influence and connection of other conscious men.”
“I have been able to stay off of porn, engage in relationships with more energy, and create structure with consistency in my career goals. I’m connected and accountable to the growth I want in my life.”
“I can bring any issue or obstacle to these men and they will hold space, listen, get curious and challenge me to grow.”
“I’ve lost weight, started running, and begun to develop my own business. I’ve overcome a lack of purpose and turned a contentious relationship with my father into a nourishing and rewarding relationship.”
“Since joining the Brotherhood I have grown in every way possible. I have started two successful businesses and I am actually allowing myself to follow what my heart and soul want to do.”
“I’ve become a better leader, feel more confident and powerful, redefined my identity in true masculinity (rather than performative masculinity), healed my relationships with other men, and learned to identify and train leaders around me.”
“I’ve never been so vulnerable with any group of men in my life. I no longer play small, and I’ve found the strength to express my truth.”
