Join the Comox Valley Mens Group

This is a weekly circle for men who want to show up with more integrity, purpose, and support—alongside brothers committed to the work.

City: Comox Valley  |  Captain(s): Justin Allk, Alex Davies, Joey Volkman

Squad Description:

The Comox Valley men’s group is a place for men to gather and speak honestly about what’s going on in their lives, listen to what is going on in other men’s lives – without trying to fix them, and to develop the discipline needed to create the life they want.

This is the place for you if you:
✔ Know you have more to offer the world
✔ Are ready to overcome your fears and build the life you truly desire
✔ Are questioning your life purpose and next steps
✔ Want to step out of your comfort zone and see what you’re capable of
✔ Are searching for authentic connections and deeper conversations
✔ Are ready to give back and share wisdom with others

If any of this sounds like something you want to take on, reach out and connect with us below or join us at an upcoming event.

More about the Captain of this Squad

Justin Allk: My journey into men’s work began when I moved from Vancouver to the Comox Valley, seeking growth, inner healing, support, and real connection. In February 2023, I joined Arka Brotherhood through Coho Squad in the Comox Valley. That path led me to step into leadership, and in July 2025 I co-founded Elk Squad as co-captain. Growing up, I found my way into drugs and alcohol early in my teenage years, surrounded by unhealthy influences and driven by a need to fit in and be accepted. I wore a front, struggled with lasting relationships, and found it difficult to build meaningful, long-term connection. Through my time in Arka, I have experienced deep spiritual and mental growth. I’ve changed careers, committed to building a healthy and loving relationship and family, and turned inward to examine my patterns. Shadow work has become a central part of my practice and the energy I bring to my squad. My goal is to integrate my shadow and lead with integrity — in my life, my family, my career, and within the brotherhood.

Alex Davies’ entry into growth work began with a year-long nature connection intensive, where he first learned to slow down, listen, and take responsibility for his inner life. He went on to join the Arka Brotherhood to deepen his inner work and develop his leadership. The Brotherhood has been a pivotal force in his life, challenging him to grow with integrity and consistency. Today Alex serves as co-captain of Elk Squad meeting Thursdays in the Comox Valley, as a way of giving back to the work that shaped him. In facilitation, Alex brings a calm, centred, and supportive presence. He focuses on creating a disciplined container where men can speak honestly, be held accountable, and move forward with clarity.

Joey Volkman has been a member of Arka since June 2021 and has served as co-captain of the Coho Squad since February 2023. Born on the island and raised in the Comox Valley, he is actively doing the work of healing old patterns through men’s group and counselling, committed to showing up with greater presence, accountability, and integrity for his squad and community.
